Empowering Women to Lead Through Gender Equality Training

YWEN is committed to empowering women across Rwanda by providing essential training on gender equality and women’s rights. Recently, YWEN held a transformative gender equality workshop in the Southern Province, where participants like Julienne Mukamurera, a community leader, shared how the training has empowered them to advocate for their rights.

Julienne, who once felt sidelined in local decision-making processes, now actively participates in shaping policies that affect women in her region. “YWEN’s gender equality training opened my eyes to the rights I have as a woman. It also taught me how to confidently voice my opinions and actively engage in leadership,” says Julienne.

YWEN’s focus on women’s empowerment ensures that these leaders are not only equipped with the knowledge of their rights but also the tools to implement them in their daily lives. Through such workshops, YWEN is building a network of strong, informed women across Rwanda who are making an impact at the community level.
